The Joburg Open - Tournament Preview

The DP World Tour heads to the Houghton Golf Club in South Africa this week for the Joburg Open. Houghton is a short track, given it is played at altitude in the Highveld. Heavy bunkering, water hazards and undulating greens are the courses defence. Accuracy and putting are the key attributes this week. Note: This is the first time Houghton has staged the Joburg Open.

Our Thoughts

Thristan Lawrence: Won his maiden Tour win this year and won in South Africa last season. Ranks Top 30 in Bogey Avoidance, Putting Average, GIR and Strokes Gained: Approach.

Hennie Du Plessis: Excellent player who has been all over the globe this year. Recent form been strong enough with two Top 16 finishes in his last four starts.

Jaco Prinsloo: Enjoyed a good season on the Sunshine Tour with a win and eight more Top 10s in his last 17 starts. Ranks 2nd in Scrambling and 10th in GIR.

Shaun Norris: Spent a lot of the year on the LIV Tour so has been competing at a high level. Tremendous putter who ranks Top 10 in Strokes Gained: Putting and Putting average while Top 25 in Bogey Avoidance and Scrambling.
