Titleist Weights & Adapters

How Titleist Adjustability Works

SureFit hosel

Most adjustable Titleist woods use the SureFit hosel, which combines loft and lie settings through a two-ring system on the adapter. Rotating it changes how the club sits and launches, so a compatible adapter is needed when fitting a new shaft.

Head weights

Titleist has used a few weighting styles over the generations:

• Swappable CG weights: the 915 and 917 drivers use removable weights, with neutral and draw options on the 917.
• Rear screw weights: TS, TSi, TSR and GT heads use a weight screw in the sole, offered in different masses to tune swingweight.
• Track weights: some lower spin models use a sliding or repositionable weight to adjust centre of gravity.

What Is in the Range

The range covers weights for GT, GTS, TSR, TSi, TS, 917, 915 and 818 models, plus adapters. Examples include the Titleist GT2/GT4 Driver & Fairway Weight, the Titleist TSR3 Driver Weight, the Weight Fits Titleist GT1/GT2/GT4 Hybrid and aftermarket Titleist Adaptors for shaft fitting.

Choosing the Right Titleist Part

• Driver, fairway or hybrid: weights and adapters are often specific to club type, so a driver weight may not suit the hybrid from the same family.
• Model generation: GT, TSR and TSi heads look similar but weight sizes can differ. Match the model named in the title.
• Weight mass: going heavier raises swingweight and can add stability; going lighter can suit a longer build or a heavier shaft. A change of about 2 grams moves swingweight roughly one point.
• Draw or neutral: on 917 drivers, the draw weight shifts mass towards the heel to help close the face.
• Shaft tip: Titleist driver and fairway adapters are typically .335 bore. Check the shaft tip before gluing.

Titleist Weights & Adapters FAQs

Are these parts made by Titleist?

No, these are aftermarket parts made to fit Titleist clubs. They are sized to match the original weights and adapters, but they are not manufactured or supplied by Titleist. Check that the model listed in the product title matches your driver, fairway or hybrid.

Will a TSR weight fit a GT driver?

Do not assume it will. Titleist often changes weight dimensions between generations and between driver, fairway and hybrid heads. Use the weight that names your exact model in the product title, as a poor fit can rattle or fail to seat properly.

What is the difference between 917 neutral and draw weights?

The neutral weight keeps the centre of gravity centred, while the draw weight places more mass towards the heel. That helps the face close through impact for golfers who fight a fade or slice. The difference in ball flight is noticeable but moderate.

Can I fit any shaft to my Titleist driver?

You can fit most .335 tip driver shafts by gluing on a compatible Titleist adapter. The shaft must then be trimmed and gripped to your playing length. Many shafts can also be ordered with assembly options if you would rather not build it yourself.
